Hilary’s Journey: Losing 6 Pounds with the CFC 30-Day Challenge

 

Today you’re going to hear from one of our very own teammates.  Hilary joined our team about a year ago and recently took the journey into the CleanFoodCrush 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge for the first time.

Meet Hilary!

Hello! I’m Hilary, a 42-year-old wife, mother, and entrepreneur. I’m originally from the beautiful islands of Trinidad and Tobago, but now I call Tennessee home.

My husband and I are raising our three spirited young daughters here, and we’ve embraced a lifestyle filled with homeschooling, martial arts, and outdoor adventures.

As a homeschooling mom for the past four years, my days are a whirlwind of lesson plans, activities, and family time. Alongside managing my digital marketing agency for nearly a decade, life is incredibly busy.

Despite the chaos, I’ve always prioritized my family’s well-being and our active lifestyle. Growing up, food was a reward, and I had to reframe my relationship with it after getting married and having children.

Staying fit and healthy became a priority, especially after each pregnancy, when I worked hard to shed the extra pounds.

I first encountered Rachel and CleanFoodCrush when I was referred for the position of Content Editor. Although I had heard about clean eating, it wasn’t until I immersed myself in the CleanFoodCrush community that I truly understood its benefits.

I’ve tried almost every recipe that I have published on the blog, and found a new appreciation for wholesome, nutritious food.

Before joining the 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge, my eating habits were far from ideal.

😭I had slipped into the mode of eating whatever was on hand and worse buying foods that were “easy” to “prepare” aka heat up and run! 

😭I constantly craved sugary and salty snacks, which led to poor sleep and low energy levels.

😭Despite practicing Taekwondo four days a week with my girls, I often felt too exhausted to cook, leading to frequent takeout meals.

Planning healthy meals seemed impossible amidst our busy schedules, especially with late evening activities.

It’s not that I never tried to meal plan, but one week it would be great then the next week we were stock owners in every Fast Food restaurant (if you catch my drift).

The turning point came at the end of April 2024, when I stepped on the scale and saw 185 lbs. I had already been told by the doctors that I needed to get my cholesterol down and I was pre-diabetic.

Feeling discouraged, I had a conversation with one of the Challenge Coaches, Billie, who encouraged me to join a group and fully commit as a participant. I lost my first 4 lbs simply by adapting the challenge’s week 1 breakfast and an extra salad a day. Then I jumped into the challenge starting at 181 lbs and lost an additional 6 lbs.

I was thrilled to see 175 lbs by the end of the 30 days.

It may seem like a small amount of weight but the bigger success was sticking to the plan of eating balanced meals, planning it all out and not giving up when I had bad days.

The challenge brought significant changes to my lifestyle.

I became more aware of my body’s needs, cutting down from four cups of coffee a day to just one in the morning.

Drinking more water helped manage my hunger, and I learned to handle my sugar cravings better with protein.

Celebrating three birthdays during the challenge was tough, but I managed to stay on track, knowing how to reset with a few days of healthy spinach salads as snacks!

If you’re considering joining the 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge, remember Rachel’s wise words: “You didn’t gain this weight in 30 days, so you’re not going to lose it in 30 days.” Be patient with yourself and get active.

Even without adding extra workouts, I saw results. Imagine the progress you can make with a bit more effort!

Cooking healthy doesn’t have to be complicated, and CleanFoodCrush recipes prove just that. My kids often join me in the kitchen because the recipes are so simple.

My absolute favorites are the Blender Oats Breakfast Muffins and the Burrito Bowls. Both are easy to prepare and packed with flavors that even the pickiest eaters will love.

The 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge has been a transformative journey for me.

From Cravings to Clean Eating: Selena’s Story

Today we’re catching up with Selena, a VIP Crusher who’s completed the 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge as well as our Little Black Dress Project.

Her story is simply amazing.

Meet Selena,

Hi my name is Selena, and I am 59 years old. I live in Georgia, where I work as an Assistant Superintendent for a school system. I’m also a wife, mother of three adult children, and grandmother of one.

For fun, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, cooking healthy meals, staying active, and cheering on the University of Georgia Bulldogs.

I’ve been following the CleanFoodCrush blog for several years and trying the recipes, but late last year, I started my first 30-day challenge. CleanFoodCrush caught my attention when I was searching the internet for healthy recipes. 

At that time, I was looking for a way to improve my health and eating habits, and the 30-day challenge seemed like a great way to get started. 

🎉Since starting the CleanFoodCrush challenges, I’ve lost a total of 11 pounds. 🎉

🤩Most recently, during the Little Black Dress challenge, I lost 6 pounds and several inches overall.🤩

In addition to the physical benefits, the mental and emotional boosts have been significant.

I’ve found that sticking to a clean eating regimen has positively impacted my mood and stress levels.

As someone who juggles a demanding job and a busy family life, these improvements have been invaluable. It’s easier to face the challenges of the day when you feel energized and balanced.

Before I found CleanFoodCrush, my greatest obstacles to eating healthy were definitely

😭sugar cravings and

😭a busy schedule that made it hard to find time to plan ahead to eat healthy. 

😭I didn’t always make the right choices, often opting for convenience over food that actually fueled my body.

🤩However, CleanFoodCrush and the 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge have helped me transform.🤩

As a foodie at heart, this program has shown me that you can enjoy great food and also eat clean simultaneously. I am now convinced that clean food tastes so much better than food that is processed and contains tons of additives. 

The CleanFoodCrush community has also played a vital role in my journey. Connecting with others who share similar goals and challenges has been motivating and inspiring. The sense of camaraderie and the exchange of tips and encouragement have made the process enjoyable and sustainable.

I now have more energy, my mood has improved, and I feel much healthier overall. Plus, I’m proud of the way I look in my clothes!

Two of my favorite recipes from the blog are the Air Fryer Fajitas and the Balsamic Dressing recipe.

The recipes are delicious and easy to prepare, which has made sticking to healthy eating much easier. They’ve become staples in my meal planning.

I want to ensure I stay fit and active well into my later years.

The best part of the journey with the Little Black Dress has been seeing the tangible results and feeling more confident in my body. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that my efforts are paying off and that I’m setting a good example for my family.

Looking back at my highlights from the two programs, I noticed that with the 30-day challenge, I had more energy and slept better.

With the Little Black Dress, I’ve noticed that my body doesn’t feel bloated. Inflammation is gone, and I feel great! 

Enjoying The Sunshine

The transformations I’ve experienced have been remarkable. I’ve learned to appreciate the natural flavors of whole foods and have found joy in preparing meals that are both nutritious and delicious. 

My family’s health has also benefited from these changes, as we’ve all embraced a cleaner, more mindful approach to eating.

As I continue my journey, my goals are to maintain the progress I’ve made and to keep exploring new, healthy recipes and habits. I want to remain a role model for my family and friends, showing that it’s possible to lead a vibrant, active life at any age.

The support from CleanFoodCrush has been instrumental in my success, and I look forward to continuing this path towards optimal health and well-being.

My experience with CleanFoodCrush 30 Day Challenge has been nothing but transformative.

How Sunny Lost 50 Pounds and Gained a Lifetime of Energy

They say sometimes it takes a long time to remain consistent. Achieving our health goals is one thing but continuing on the path and maintaining that new lifestyle is the ultimate achievement.

Meet Sunny!

Hey everyone, Sunny here! Since ending my last 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge  I’ve been following the plan about 90% of the time since the challenge ended in 2022, I’m excited to share the incredible transformation I’ve experienced.

Rewind to when I first signed up for the challenge—I was at 190lbs, feeling sluggish, especially during those tough afternoons.

Fast forward to today, and I’m a whole new person at around 140lbs.

More importantly, my energy levels are consistently high; no more of that sluggish 2pm feeling because I’ve mastered the art of smart snacking.

The results? They’re pretty amazing.

I feel healthier overall—my skin is smoother, and my hair has grown impressively.

But what really made a difference was the support from the CleanFoodCrush team.

All of the team members have gone through the challenge themselves so their firsthand experience and guidance, along with the camaraderie from fellow “crushers,” made all the difference.

It felt like we were all in the same boat, aiming for the same goal of long-term health.

What keeps me going now is the joy of playing with my kids without feeling tired, moving around with ease, and just enjoying life in a healthy, energetic body.

My transformation has not only been personal; it’s been a family journey.

My wife has been an incredible support, and together, we’re teaching our kids about healthy sugar habits, emphasizing quality food over quantity.  I can’t take away their sugar because they are kids, but I can control how much they are eating.

The way I approach food has fundamentally changed. I focus on meals with solid, whole ingredients. It’s not just about losing weight—it’s about creating a sustainable, healthy lifestyle.

For those of you considering a change or facing challenges in your health journey, my advice is simple: don’t give up.

The path might be tough, but the destination, as I’ve discovered, is absolutely worth it.

Michelle is Finally Taking Control of Her Health and Life

This week we’re sharing an amazing story of transformation from Michelle on how the CleanFoodCrush 30-Day Challenge helped her reclaim her health and vitality for life. 

Meet Michelle, wife and mother of three. 

Hi I’m Michelle, I’m 41 years old and I realized it was time to make a major change in my life. Between working full-time as a hospital assistant, being a wife, and raising three kids, I had let my own health and wellness fall by the wayside.

Our family loves spending time together going on hikes, having movie nights, and swimming, but I just never had the energy I wish I could.

In February, I decided to take the leap and sign up for the CFC 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge that I had been seeing pop up for months. The amazing recipes they share had me drooling, and I knew it was exactly the kickstart I needed to finally get myself on track.

Those first 30 days were not easy, but I am so grateful I stuck with it.

🌟By following the challenge guidelines, I lost an incredible 14.4 pounds and a total of 5 inches overall.🌟

🥳More importantly, it helped me break my alcohol habit that had been hindering me as well.

🥳The bounce in my step and the clarity of mind I gained was priceless.

🥳After that initial 30-day journey, I felt like a new woman.

🎉I have so much more natural energy to be active and present with my family. 

🎉I’m sleeping better than I have in years. 

🎉Meal prepping has become a seamless part of my routine, making healthy eating efficient rather than a chore. 

🎉Even my husband and kids are enjoying many of the delicious clean recipes like the No Bake Energy Balls that help curb my sweet tooth.

I know after seeing such incredible results that I can’t go back to my old habits. I’m now on my second 30-day challenge rotation, having already committed to being an annual member. 

My current goal is to reach a comfortable size medium, and I have even bought a new bathing suit in that size because I am that confident that this clean eating lifestyle will get me there.

For anyone on the fence about starting their own health journey, I cannot recommend the CFC 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge enough.

This is not a fad diet, but a sustainable lifestyle shift that has given me a new outlook on food, flavors, and what really fuels me.

If you slip up, just get back on track and keep pushing forward, because the payoff is immeasurable.

Words of wisdom. Never be afraid of a positive change, remember that you’re moving forward not backwards. If you make a mistake just acknowledge it and keep moving forward in the right direction.

Barbara’s Journey to a Healthier Lifestyle Continues 

Barbara jumped on board with CleanFoodCrush about a year ago, back in September 2023. Since then, she’s been rocking it, moving from a monthly to an annual member without looking back.

Hey there! I’m Barbara, and I wanted to share my journey with CleanFoodCrush 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge.

About a year ago, I decided to give CleanFoodCrush 30 Day Clean Eating challenge a shot. It was September 2023, and I figured, why not?

Since then, I’ve been loving it! I started off with the monthly plan, then quickly switched to the annual one. I just finished up my sixth challenge

 

From Day 1 to Now!

And let me tell you, the changes have been pretty awesome.

🎉I’ve lost almost 40 pounds and over 46 inches! (39.5 pounds and a 46.25 inches to be exact!)

🎉That’s 20.4 pounds and 22.75 inches since my first challenge. 

🎉Plus, I’ve dropped a few clothing sizes I’ve gone from  XLarge to (18 to Large) range to 12-14 range which feels amazing.

But it’s not just about the numbers. I’ve got way more energy now.

🏃‍♀️💃🤸‍♀️I’m out there walking, playing golf, and just having fun with my friends like never before.

My Most Recent Challenge Results

And it’s not just my body that’s benefiting. My skin’s looking clearer, I’m sleeping better, and overall, I just feel great.

What’s my secret?

Well, it’s not really a secret at all. I’ve just been keeping it simple, sticking to balanced meals with a mix of carbs, protein, veggies, and fruits, thanks to the challenge principles.

But it’s not just about the food. I’ve found this amazing community at CleanFoodCrush. Whether it’s Rachel, the founder, or the other members cheering me on, I’ve never felt alone in this journey.

Even when my friends and family were a bit skeptical, I stayed true to what I knew was working for me. And now? Well, I’ve never felt better. I’m moving easier, thinking clearer, and just enjoying life more than ever before.

Looking back, I wish I could tell my younger self to skip the junk food and embrace clean eating sooner. But hey, better late than never, right?

And for anyone out there thinking about giving CleanFoodCrush a try, here’s my advice: Just go for it.

Sure, the first week might be a bit tough, but trust me, it’s so worth it. More energy, better sleep, and a happier, healthier you – what’s not to love?

I don’t plan on going back to the foods that made me sick and tired all the time. My mindset is to keep up with the healthy habits I have gained by following this program. 

It’s been a pretty incredible journey that I will keep, and I couldn’t be happier with where I’m at now. If you’re thinking about making a change, I say go for it. You won’t regret it!

Kristy’s Clean Eating Journey: From Struggle to Triumph

Meet Kristy, a dedicated wife, mother of two energetic boys, and part-time preschool assistant from Kansas. Hi, my name is Kristy, I am a 41-year-old wife and mom of 2 active boys from Kansas. I work part-time as a preschool assistant. For fun I love hanging out with my friends, puzzles, mini golf and travelling.

I have been following Rachel and CleanFoodCrush for about 6 months now but only recently decided to join the 30-Day Clean Eating Challenge.

I originally saw a recipe post on Facebook and signed up for Rachel’s newsletter from there. 

I recently completed my first 30-day Clean Eating Challenge and have lost 10 lbs. and 2% body fat. 

Ever since I was younger, I have always struggled with my weight in some form.

I was an overweight child and in high school decided to eat healthier and exercise.

From there no matter how much I watched what I ate or exercised I was always unhappy with my appearance and never felt I was ‘small’ or ‘skinny’ enough.

Instead of treating food as fuel for my body, I looked at certain foods as ‘bad’ or ‘good’ and how they affected the number on the scale. 

After having kids my weight yo-yo’ed a lot depending on how much time I had for the gym or prepping healthy meals for my family.

As much as I tried to balance work, kids, chores and daily life … convenience always won out to preparing food; it has never been one of my strengths.

I always loved (still do) working out so the gym was never a problem, but I once was told… “you can never out-exercise your mouth“; so I needed to make nutrition a priority; but I didn’t know where to start.

Before I found CleanFoodCrush I always thought that eating ‘clean’ was always so much work. I was fine with counting macros (calories etc) and that worked for a while but it got so tedious and I always forgot to track my calories to stay on target for the day which would lead to overeating.

And even though the scale was going down slowly (when I stuck to my calories for the day) I was still suffering from inflammation, bloating, itchy skin, heartburn and being tired frequently. 

In March of 2023 I started struggling with pain in my hip which I had been dealing with on and off since 2018 when I had a total hip replacement. The pain became so bad I was forced to use crutches until my hip revision surgery in June.

Relying on others for my meals and taking on a much more sedentary lifestyle the scale continued to rise.

Once I was cleared to finally go back to my regular workouts and do things for myself, my weight had skyrocketed to the highest it has been since I was pregnant!

I was depressed and mad at myself for letting it get this bad (again) but then Rachel’s email came across my inbox reminding me I had 8 weeks until Spring Break. We had a cruise planned for Spring Break and I knew now was the time. 

 

I have only completed one challenge, and I am down 10lbs and 2% body fat! 

🎉I have been sleeping so much better

🎉I have more energy and

🎉all those inflammation symptoms have improved or completely went away.

❤The accountability of the challenge groups is beyond anything I have ever experienced.

For me that is the factor that really helped me stay on task and I was surprised at how much support, positive feedback, questions answered (quickly) and real time accountability the group offers. 

To me, that alone makes the challenge and this new way of eating worth it and easy.

The recipes are easy to make and don’t contain lots of expensive, weird foods. I love how week 1 tells you exactly what to eat so you can focus on preparing and getting the hang of clean eating. 

Words of Wisdom – just do it! Jump in and give it your all for 4 weeks – you deserve it. The hardest part is starting – once you do that the support of the group and the way you feel will help keep you going.

From Deprived to Nourished: Michele’s Clean Eating Journey

Today we’re happy to introduce you to Michele – a 52 year old spouse and mother.

Meet Michele!

The CleanFoodCrush 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge changed my life. As a busy 52 year old woman with a stressful career and family, I struggled for years to find a nutrition plan that worked for me.

I wanted to lose weight, gain energy, and improve my health. When I discovered CleanFoodCrush, I knew their approach to eating clean, nourishing foods would be the solution I was looking for.

After following CleanFoodCrush for a couple of years, I finally took the plunge and signed up for their 30-day challenge in January 2024.

🤩It was one of the best decisions I’ve made!🤩

🎉I not only lost 5 pounds and an inch off my waist, but I had a marked improvement in my energy levels and stamina.

The challenge taught me how to eat in a way that fueled my body optimally.

I was eating healthy mostly but I didn’t think I needed more protein and I was always hungry when trying to lose weight.

I felt deprived a lot and carbs/beans were easier to prepare so I ate very little meat/protein.

Now that I’ve added it in, I feel so much more satisfied and some of the recipes, such as the Buffalo chicken meatballs are so satisfying!

Another benefit is that my family is eating much more protein which they also benefit from.

I learned:

🎉Protein is what keeps you satiated and energized.🎉

🎉Now that I eat a high-protein breakfast, lunch, and dinner, I don’t experience the energy crashes I used to get.

🎉I feel satisfied with smaller portion sizes, and I no longer have intense sugar cravings begging to be satisfied.

The CleanFoodCrush challenge changed my approach to nutrition and my mindset around food.

 I see my meals as an opportunity to nourish my body and give it the fuel it needs. I enjoy making recipes like the Buffalo chicken meatballs and overnight oats from the challenge.

Beyond the meal plans and recipes, my favorite part of the challenge was the supportive community.

I never felt alone thanks to the active Facebook group and coaches checking in daily.

I could post any question and get ideas when struggling. It was also motivating to see other people’s progress photos and successes.

Having a built-in support system made staying on track so much easier.

 I love and need the support to stay on track because it’s easy to slide into old habits!

For 7 weeks now I’ve followed the program and I love it! I used to be consistent for a while but there was nothing outside of myself to keep me focused and motivated so I’d lose momentum and slowly start eating less healthy.

I love the challenge so much I’m planning on an annual membership.

Carrie Stopped Yo-Yo Dieting For Good With CFC

This week we’re spotlighting Carrie – a busy mom of three teenagers who has been on a “diet” since she was 15 years old but stopped all that with CleanFoodCrush 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge.

My name is Carrie, I am a wife and mother of 3 beautiful teenage daughters. I am a Human Resource Business Partner for an international company. I live in Wisconsin, and I love to spend time with my family and travel as much as possible. Our home away from home is Siesta Key, FL.

I think I have been on a diet since I was 15 years old. You name a diet…I have tried it.

I have pretty good will power when my mindset is right and have been successful with almost all of them, but always yo-yo back.

The reason is…they were always a “diet”. That is not sustainable. For the first time in my life, I am not on a diet. I joined a PROGRAM that taught me nutrition. I am forever grateful.

I have been following CleanFoodCrush since 2020. I was very successful on my own and lost around 30 lbs.

😭Unfortunately, I had gained it all back (and a little more).

😭Doing it on my own was hard work.

Researching everything on my own and then eventually logging all of my food in MyFitnessPal, as I discovered clean eating can still cause weight gain if eating too many calories.

😭In May of 2023, I was at my highest weight since I had my twins.

I knew I had to join the challenge and truly learn the science behind clean eating.

They claimed I wouldn’t have to count calories and I had to find out how that was possible.

I can attest that those statements are in fact true.

I joined my first challenge June 1st 2023 .

🎉In my first 30 days, I lost 15.4 lbs

🎉4 inches in my waist and

🎉3 inches in my hips without counting one calorie!

🎉By August, I was down around 22 pounds. and I felt fabulous.

I will admit I was not the best food prepper, and I don’t workout nearly as much as I should, but I found success during those months.

I was doing really well until the end of October and then the cold weather and holidays were coming. 

I started slipping into old habits and before I knew it, I was back to eating poorly and gaining weight. 

Back to my all-or-nothing mentality.

 I was so disappointed in myself and basically gained back all the weight I lost in just two short months.

I realized that this program isn’t a magic wand.  I wasn’t automatically cured from my bad relationship with food.  I discovered this will forever be a process and it might take years to get it perfect. 

I am an annual member, so I jumped on board the January challenge determined not to be defeated!

It basically mirrored my June results.

I still have about 12 more pounds to loose, but I am not giving up and sticking with CleanFoodCrush to get me through the hard days. 

It isn’t a cookie cutter program and everyone has to find what works for them, but it is surely a fantastic template.

😍I am enjoying the weight loss and the compliments I receive asking if I’ve lost weight, but I underestimated the other benefits.

🌟I am sleeping much better

🌟My hair and skin is so much better and

🌟My rosacea is almost non-existent.

🌟 Overall, I just feel better in my skin and the number on the scale isn’t the most important thing anymore. 

The best part is, my family is eating healthier as well and my daughters know more about nutrition and ingredients than I ever did at their age.

I love the challenge and what it has taught me.  I look forward to continuing and getting the support from Rachel and her team for as long as it takes.

My husband and my daughters are my “why” and I love when they can see me love myself.

How Jessica Transformed her Health with the CFC 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge

We all know that many people start off the year with health goals.

Well Jessica did exactly that! But she’s not only changed her eating, she’s changed her life and is continuing on this journey.

Meet Jessica a busy wife and mother of two young children who is leading by example in her family!

My name is Jessica and I’m a busy wife, mother of two young children, and full-time employee.

As a longtime follower of CleanFoodCrush, I was looking for healthy, clean eating recipes to feed my family when I first discovered Rachel and the blog a few years ago.

Dishes like the Alice Springs chicken pizza with zucchini crust have become house favorites.

We love that we can eat delicious food that’s still good for us!

Over time, juggling family, career, entrepreneurship, and more, my own health started to spiral out of control.

I was so focused on being a good mom and wife that I lost track of taking care of myself.

I wanted to get back on track with healthy habits to have the energy to be the fun, present mom and wife I strive to be.

So in January 2024, I joined the CleanFoodCrush 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge to make a lifelong change.

😫I was tired of the weight gain, fatigue, and migraines.😫

I knew I needed to get back to clean eating principles to feel like my best self again.

🥳So far, I’ve lost 11.5 pounds and feel fantastic!🥳

My energy has returned, my cravings for sugar and carbs are gone, and my family and I have enjoyed the many delicious, nourishing recipes provided during the challenge.

I can tell this program works because the pounds are coming off and, more importantly, I feel so much better physically and mentally.

How Clean Eating Transformed Corrina’s Health

Meet Corrina, 49 year old homemaker and grandmother from Minnesota. Corrina enjoys knitting and sewing and in summer months she likes to golf and ride her horses.

I started following the CleanFoodCrush 30-day Clean Eating Challenge in August 2023 and have already lost an incredible 60 pounds!

I also was able to stop taking medications for blood pressure and anxiety.

Before CleanFoodCrush my biggest challenge was always portion control and frequent social gatherings where tasty but unhealthy foods were always around.

This led to significant weight gain and health issues like high blood pressure, stomach problems, and anxiety.

Spring 2022 Before CFC

I was taking daily medications for blood pressure and anxiety.

After a doctor’s visit where I asked for prescription weight loss drugs, my doctor urged me to try losing weight through diet and exercise instead.

That’s when I turned to CleanFoodCrush.

The 30-day Clean Eating Challenge transformed my health.

After losing 60 pounds, I was able to stop taking daily medications for both blood pressure and anxiety. My IBS and stomach issues cleared up as well.

I credit clean eating with the improvement my well being and my marriage. I finally feel like myself again.
